We are living in a challenging time and it doesn’t appear that things are getting better in our country but I know it will soon be exceptional. Daily papers, Social Media can alter the way we think and behave. Every day I check “My Sejahtera” to see the total number of cases. At times it seems promising as the numbers are going down and I know that God is in control and the next day the numbers are so high and alarming. The death cases a day are just so distressing. I ask God for mercy to end this pandemic and strengthen my faith so that I can be a beacon of light and blessings to those who are in pain and those who have lost their hope in this one true living God.
God is working through this pandemic, do we see him? People say, if God is good, why doesn’t he put an end to this evil, suffering and death? Those are questions that come up in the minds of some thoughtful people and some who don’t believe in the word of God.
Jesus said in Mark 5: “Talitha cumi”; which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” There is power in the word Arise. As a child of God, I ought to not live a dormant, stressed, and fearful of what tomorrow brings as I know who holds tomorrow. Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
I do fall but nothing will stop me from rising and standing in faith during this pandemic! How much faith do I place in our extraordinary infinite God? I need to seek my heart, and let God speak. St Paul said, “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Our strength comes from the Lord, arising above all fear, doubts, anxiety and negativity that prevent us from rising. Fix our eyes on Jesus and allow him to pilot our lives now.
Many times in Scripture, the word Arise, Rise, Rising is mentioned. Do not let circumstances around you; rob you of your joy and peace in Christ, Jesus. Only with Jesus, we are capable beyond measure to rise.
