Kuala Lumpur Archdiocesan Biblical Apostolate (KLABA) was formed sometime in 1993 by the inspiring and devoted Bible scholar, the late Fr Gilbert Griffon, MEP. After the passing away of Fr Griffon, Msgr James Gnanapiragasam was tasked with the continued efforts of the late Fr Griffon with ‘planting and building’ this Biblical apostolate for 15 years until the baton was passed to Fr Joachim Tan in 2015 during the priest transfers. On 15 October 2021, with the new wave of transfers for EA, Msgr James Gnanapiragasam has once again been entrusted to lead the Biblical Apostolate. In this pandemic era, we need to seek new ways to school the people of God and Synodality will be a great start to dialogue in communion for better integration.
Commissioned under The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, KLABA continues to remain in the main stream to nourish our growing community of Catholics to keep them engaged and inspired in the fullness of ‘The Word’ together with the other language apostolates i.e. Bahasa, Chinese and Tamil.
